About this tool

Ordering tiles means accounting for the area, the tile size and the inevitable cuts around edges and fixtures. This calculator combines all three: it works out the exact number of tiles, adds your waste allowance, and rounds up to whole boxes.

A 10% waste margin suits most straight layouts; increase it for diagonal designs or awkward rooms. Buying from the same batch matters for colour consistency, so it’s worth a little extra. Everything is computed in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How much waste should I allow?

Around 10% is standard for straight layouts, and 15% or more for diagonal patterns or rooms with many cuts.

How are boxes worked out?

If you enter the tiles per box, the calculator rounds the total up to whole boxes so you buy enough.
