About this tool
Word frequency analysis reveals what a piece of writing is really about and which words you lean on most. This counter ranks every word by how often it appears and shows its share of the total, so patterns jump out immediately.
It’s useful for editing repetitive prose, studying a text, or basic keyword analysis. Capitalisation is ignored and contractions are kept whole for an accurate count. Everything is processed in your browser, so your text stays private.
Frequently asked questions
How are words counted?
The tool lowercases the text and counts sequences of letters and digits, treating apostrophes inside a word as part of it, so "don't" counts as one word.
Does it ignore capitalisation?
Yes. "The" and "the" are counted together, which gives a more accurate frequency ranking.
